Design and specification 

Apple iPhone 5 has a 4.0" LED backlit IPS TFT capacitive touch screen with pixel density of 326ppi. The phone runs iOS 6 operating system with a 1.2 Ghz A6 processor and PowerVR SGX543MP4 GPU with 1GB RAM. The phone has dimensions of 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 mm making it 18% thinner than iPhone 4S because of its in-cell touch screen technology. The phone also weighs just 112grams, making it 20% lighter than the iPhone 4S. 

Camera and Multimedia 

The phone has an 8MP camera with a backlit CMOS image sensor. The camera has great features such as geo tagging, auto focus, touch focus, Panorama LED flash and face detection. There is a 1MP front facing camera with HD Facetime support for both Wifi and 3G/4G networks.


  


 
Connectivity and Features 

Apple iPhone 5 is runs on quad core 2G and 3G networks as well as 4G LTE networks through Nano SIM. The phone supports internet access through GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Wifi and 4G LTE. The phone also has Bluetooth 4.0 , NFC and a 19 pin dock connector for connectivity and power. The iPhone 5 features an updated Siri voice assistant service that follows natural language commands and dictation. The phone has reworked iMap feature as well, moving away from the Google Maps that were being used before. 

Battery and Storage 

The phone has a 1440 mAh battery that provides 8 hours talk time in 2G and 3G. The phone is available in variants of 16, 32 and 64 GB internal memory. 

APPLE IPHONE 5 RELEASE DATE IN INDIA

As speculations about Indian release mount, tech site BGR reports that the iPhone 5 will be released in Indian around Diwali, "Apple is planning to launch the iPhone 5 in India close to Diwali, which falls on November 13. None of our sources could confirm the actual India launch date at this time. Considering Apple releases its products in the market on a Friday, we would reckon the best chance would be to launch it on November 9 that happens to be the Friday before Diwali."


This isn't the first time Apple has delayed the Indian launch of its latest product. Apple iPhone 4S was launched by telecom operators Airtel and Aircel in the country on November 25, 2011, almost a month after its US launch.

iPhone 5 price in India 

 

Price in India is expected to be between Rs 45,000 to Rs 55,000 when launched officially.
